RESUMEN SIMPOSIO INVITADO
Innovative strategies in teacher education to enhance competence development for inclusive practices

Current educational policies across the globe have placed inclusion at the heart of their agendas with the aim of providing all students, independent of their needs, the right to quality education. In recent years, among other factors identified as fundamental for the success of sustainable inclusive schools, a lot of attention has been given to the competencies teachers require to face the complex educational scenario they work in. Inclusive practices require teachers to be flexible, innovative and creative in order to meet their students’ cognitive styles and equip them with the necessary skills for lifelong learning.
The papers being presented are all related to innovative teaching strategies stemming from general, special and inclusive teaching practices, which can provide new ideas for teacher education in higher education institutions.
